Wen once told me about this
recurring dream she used to have - “I’m in the centre of the ocean except there
is no waves, I’m surrounded by this strangely calm and warm water. I try to
swim away, I try to look around but I don’t seem to know where to head
towards.”
Perhaps we’ve all shared a similar
experience at one point in our life, where we feel lost. Every direction looks
like an exit but it’s also for that reason, we struggle to find the way. I was once
that person in the centre of the ocean. I had spent many years of my adult life
wandering, following and mimicking others. Gradually, I forgot what it was like
to be brave, to explore and to follow your institution.
